Pre Implantation Genetic Diagnosis Is The Potential Method Of Carrying Out Genetic Selection For The Couple Desiring For The Baby
There are various reasons for the couple to end up with no younger ones. Some of them are categorized under the environmental factors that influence the condition of infertility in both males and females. However, males are more predominantly influenced by these environmental factors like unethical behaviors like smoking, drinking, etc. Due to these unethical behaviors, male partners end up in losing the active sperms or even if the active sperms are present, they are in minimal numbers which are not sufficient for spontaneous fertilization. For increasing the number of active and motile sperms, there are separate set of treatments available. After the increase in sperm count, these sperms can be isolated from the source male partner and used for invitro fertilization process to result in a beautiful baby. Some of the other possible treatment procedures include the following: Intra uterine Sperm transfer, Intra fallopian sperm transfer, intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection, Zygote intra-fallopian tube transfer, surrogacy, etc. Those couple who wish to even determine their baby’s gender can also be done through the process of gender selection. Gender selection is the process of selecting the embryo’s gender by various ways. Two major ways include the following. One method is called the sperm sorting, which is nothing but while isolating the sperms from the male partner, the active sperm is selected and injected directly into the intra-cytoplasmic region of the fertilizing egg. This is done on the principle that the gender of the fetus is always determined by the sperm genetic makeup. This method is called sperm sorting. Another potential method of egg donor is called pre-implantation genetic diagnosis. This diagnosis is done by removing a single cell from the developing and mature embryo which is ready for implantation into the uterus of the biological mother or the surrogate mother is checked for the presence of Y chromosome.
